
Meet Our Veterinarians
Our team of veterinarians, headed by Dr. Michael
Tuder,
has been providing excellent veterinary care to
Hudson County for over 60 years.

Bayonne Animal Hospital, founded in 1944 by
Dr. Tuder's family, has been under the direction
of
Dr. Tuder since 1986. Animal Infirmary of
Hoboken opened
its doors in 1995 and Downtown Veterinary
Associates
followed in 2004.


Michael Tuder, DVM
Dr. Michael Tuder is a graduate of PHU National
University. A warm and caring veterinarian,
Dr. Tuder
has been practicing in Hudson County since 1982 and is a past President
of the New Jersey Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery.
In April
2006, Dr. Tuder became the only Board Certified Veterinary Laser Surgeon in the
metropolitan area as determined by the Veterinary Laser Surgical Society.
Dr. Tuder has been providing veterinary services for Bayonne, Hoboken, Jersey City and
other areas with their rabies control programs for many years. In
addition, he is the City Veterinarian for Bayonne and Hoboken. Dr. Tuder is also
accredited by the United States Department of Agriculture for International
Animal Transport. He has been in practice for 23 years and is married with
two children. His hobbies include golf and tennis, and he especially
enjoys traveling. At the present he has two standard poodles named "Kasey"
& "Max".

Lisa Capelli-Truppner,
DVM
Dr. Capelli is a 1997 graduate of Michigan
State University and has been in practice for 8 years and specializes in small
animal medicine. She was born and raised in Hoboken with extensive family
still living in town. Dr. Capelli is married to her wonderful husband,
Bobby and her hobbies include water sports, boating and tennis. She loves
traveling and the beach. Dr. Capelli has 4 cats named "Baxter", "Sammy",
"Jenny" and "Miss Presley".

Jennifer Stanley,
BVetMed, MRCVS
Dr. Stanley is originally from Wayne, New Jersey.
She graduated in 2004 from the Royal Veterinary College in London. Dr.
Stanley's interest include drawing (for fun as well as freelance veterinary
medical illustration), painting, needlework, reading and travel. Prior to
her veterinary education, Dr. Stanley worked as a zookeeper at the Bronx Zoo, as
well as a dairy herd manager in New Zealand. She has one cat named
"Sparky".

Janirka S.R. Ponce, DVM
Dr. Ponce has been with us as an associate
veterinarian since 2001. She earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine
from Kansas State University with a specialty in small animal medicine.
Dr. Ponce loves to travel, read (both for leisure and for her profession) and
enjoys great food. She cherishes her parents and family and she loves all
animals, especially her amazing miniature schnauzer and partner-in-crime,
"Dali".

Ellen Singh, VMD
Dr. Ellen Singh earned her
veterinary degree from the
University of
Pennsylvania in 2004. She spent her first year practicing in
Sydney,
Australia and then joined our team in October 2005. She and her husband have one
cat, "Ernest", and in their free time enjoy traveling, outdoor sports and the
beach.

Colleen Dwyer, DVM
Dr. Dwyer is a recent 2002 graduate of
Louisiana State University and has been in practice for 3 years. She grew
up in Texas and has a 7 year old Vizsla named "Kobie".
Her hobbies include travel, reading books, and
visiting the dog park as often as her busy schedule allows.

Pui Chi Wong, DVM
Dr.
Pui Chi Wong is originally
from northern New Jersey. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Animal Science from Cook College, Rutgers University in 2001. She then
attended Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in
2005. Dr. Wong completed an internship
in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in
July of 2006. She joined our practice shortly thereafter. Dr. Wong has two
pets -- a Persian named "Marble" and a
Schnoodle named "Griffin". Her interests include
traveling and spending time
with her family and friends.

Jayme Zimmermann, DVM
Dr. Zimmermann completed her undergraduate work
at the University of Rhode Island, and earned her Doctorate in Veterinary
Medicine at Ohio State University. She is originally from South Jersey
where her family still lives.
Dr. Zimmermann shares her home with her
veterinarian husband, a boxer named "Vegas" and a lab named "Memphis".
She enjoys swimming, scuba diving, soccer, volleyball, and going to the
movies.

Holly Hansen, DVM
Dr.
Hansen earned her DVM degree in 2005 from Tufts University. Prior to becoming
a veterinarian, she was a medical crime scene investigator for the Regional
Medical Examiner’s office in Newark, NJ. Her interests in veterinary medicine
are: Feline Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Pediatric Medicine with a love
for exotics, such as, rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets. Dr. Hansen has
always called Hudson County her home. Her favorite music: 80's hair bands,
classic rock, and Barry Manilow!
She
enjoys concerts, the Jersey shore, and all movies. Dr. Hansen also loves
football with New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers being her all-time
favorites. She shares her home with 6 cats: Buttons (whom she acquired from
Grenada, West Indies), Henry George (her 3 legged boy), Kahlua, Kiwi, Miss
Ozone, and Tiki and a 13 yr old female Boxer named Ginger.

Victor T. Rendano
Jr., VMD, MS, DACVR, DACVR(RO)
Board certified in Radiology and Radiation Oncology
Dr. Rendano graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of
Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and received his Doctorate in
Veterinary Medicine in 1972. Following veterinary school, he continued his
studies by completing an internship and residency at the University of Guelph
and a Master of Science Degree at Washington State University. After finishing a
rigorous training program, he was inducted as a diplomate into the American
College of Veterinary Radiology and received his board certification 1975.
In 1976, Dr. Rendano accepted a tenure track faculty position in the Department
of Clinical Sciences at Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr.
Rendano worked at Cornell as an associate professor and senior radiology
clinician for 20 years. In 1996, Dr. Rendano retired from his position at
Cornell Veterinary School in order to study radiation oncology and pursue a
career in private practice. Having completed his radiation oncology
studies at Cornell University, Colorado State University, University of
Wisconsin, Washington State University and the SUNY Medical Center in Syracuse,
New York, Dr. Rendano was awarded board certification in veterinary radiation
oncology in 2001. Dr. Rendano has published over 100 papers and has lectured
throughout the world. The New York State Veterinary Medical Society and the
University of Pennsylvania Alumni Society have honored him for his outstanding
career and his dedication to the veterinary profession. A firm believer in
veterinary continuing education, Dr. Rendano has offered radiology film reading
sessions, ultrasound lectures and wet labs to primary care veterinarians.
